Sustainability and corporate transition — with the experience of Shell, McKinsey, and co-founder of "Employees for our Future" as my compass.

Arjan Keizer

An insider's perspective on the transition

After seven years at McKinsey & Company and seven years at Shell — including Shell Fleet Solutions and NewMotion — I left in 2025 to work full-time on accelerating corporate climate action.

I speak and advise as someone who understands how strategy, incentives, and governance actually function inside large organisations. Not as an outsider pointing at the problem, but as someone who has worked it from within.

I'm also co-founder of Employees for our Future (ANBI), a foundation mobilising employees of major Dutch corporates around climate action. Represented by Speakers for the World.

Speaking topics

Three perspectives on the transition

01
The economic & geopolitical urgency
Why the transition is no longer a choice, and what the window for action actually looks like from inside the energy industry.
02
From techno-optimist to urgent actor
A personal account of shifting from true believer in the system to someone who felt the urgency deeply enough to act on it — in 2022.
03
The path forward from the inside
What corporate transition looks like when you've seen it from Shell and McKinsey — grounded in how large organisations actually function.

Advisory

Stakeholder engagement

The role of employees
Dutch corporate governance recognises employees as a key stakeholder — but engagement runs almost entirely through the works council. There is real room to do more, and do it better.
Shareholders & supervisory boards
Advising on how institutional investors and supervisory boards can engage more substantively with climate strategy — including shareholder resolution dynamics.
Engagement with climate NGOs
Companies that move from risk avoidance to genuine dialogue find more durable outcomes. I help organisations approach that shift honestly and credibly.
